Goals of the exercise
- Een nieuw subdomain aanmaken en beveiligen met SSL/TLS
- Installatie van WordPress op eigen hosting account kunnen uitvoeren
- Berichten en categorieën kunnen aanmaken
- Een contactformulier kunnen toevoegen aan je website
- Algemene WordPress instellingen kunnen aanpassen
- Zelf een menu kunnen aanmaken in WordPress
- Je eigen WordPress website kunnen personaliseren
- Inzicht krijgen over de achtergrond van een CMS (databank, serverside, clientside)
Description
In this lab exercise we got to experiment with Wordpress. First we had to install it onto our Plesk site and then tweak the site with some of the themes and modules baked into Wordpress.

The setup was quite easy, I just had to follow the steps in the instruction document and I got the site up and running in no time.

Auwch!
Overall it was quite an easy exercise. What did happen is that I accidentely overwrote my index.html page when installing wordpress. The issue (as described in the document) was that I installed it on my main domain and not on a new subdomain. Woops! Fortunately, I fixed this quite easily.

Hmmm?
While I do see the use of a Wordpress website for small things like a blog, I don't think I will use it, since it's not flexible enough. Besides that I found it quite hard to make a webpage look good with the available assets.
